Neighbor Kiddos!
I had gone outside to get the mail today, and my neighbor kids stopped me to asked if I would take their picture. So, of course I couldn't turn them down. Meet Emanuel and Essence (isn't Essence a neat name?).

Challenge #22 People (Girl @ Knightsferry)
Cliff and I went to Knightsferry this last Sunday...we did quite a bit of hiking around there and I got this shot of a little girl getting her picture taken by her mother. I love how her shoe is about to fall off of her foot! :-)

Challenge #22 People (Maycin & Spiderman)
The focus is on Spiderman (on purpose)...believe you me, sometimes hard to corral a 7 year old boy and I was lucky to even get a chance to take this shot. So, I didn't much care about the background, but very happy to get that out of focus grin.
Challenge #22 People (Maycin & Darla)
Again, this was taken in the "garden room" and there was plenty of light..infact almost too much on one side of Maycin's face. I LOVE this photo of a boy and his dog. I wish that I was able to get all of Ashlee's red wall in the background...so warm/rich...and still giving that relaxed feel with them on the couch.
Challenge #22 People (Princess Peanut)
Another candid shot...in the "garden room". I posted this photo not because it is composition worthy, but because it has feeling and personal value to me. I love the lighting on Margo's face, the over the shoulder lei she put on herself, and that she is looking up to her mother. I realize I chopped off her hand and that my lines in the background are not level... :o)
Challenge #22 People (Margo)
This candid shot of Margo was taken inside Ashlee's house. She had a "garden room" (that is what they call them in Arizona) better known as a "sunroom" that let in a lot of light. So, I didn't have to flash. I did edit this photo to bring out the softness of Margo's skin.

Challenge #21 Change (Botanical Garden)
This past week, Cliff and I had a big and wonderful change! We were in Arizona visiting Ashlee and her family.
While in Arizona, we visited the Phoenix Desert Botanical Garden with a butterfly pavilion, that was very cool, and Cliff got to release a butterfly! Butterflies are symbolic of change to me...symbolic of profound changes of the soul!!

Challenge #20 Home Sweet Home (Dresser)
I did not use a flash on this photo, although there is shadow...it's from the overhead light. I didn't have enough lighting and used it instead of the flash.

Challenge #20 Color & Angle (Daffodil)
I didn't notice this until I posted it, but I could have cropped out that little bit of flower petal in the upper left hand corner. It's kind of distracting to me and now it bugs me, but I'm too tired to fix it!

Challenge #20 Laughter (Lacee)
This shot is grainy and a little fuzzy because 1. the lighting was bad (I did bump up my ISO, though) and 2. Lacee was moving when she laughed. Now this was rather a fun challenge because when you make yourself laugh it's so lame, it makes you laugh for real!! I liked the angle of this shot, although it was not intentional...I was just trying to catch her laughing.
Posting just cuz....
This little cutie-pie is my neighbor, Lauren. She is 22 months old and I only met her yesterday. Her mother let me practice my photography on her. The shots were taken in direct sunlight...not so great for portraits, but fun for candid shots.
